Disinfection and oxidation with DA-GEN?

The most efficient oxidizing agents are the so called free radicals. These highly reactive oxygen radicals (OH• and O•) completely oxidize organic substances and therefore don't form any harmful disinfection by-products (DBP's). The disinfection with OH radicals is called advanced oxidation.

Free radicals are very short-lived and disintegrate within seconds. Therefore a residual oxidant is needed to guarantee sufficient disinfection in the pool. Best suitable for this task is a small amount of chlorine.

Our DA-GEN produces both. With a properly sized DAISY you will only need 0.1 mg / l of free chlorine in private pools to ensure proper disinfection. This provides pool water in drinking water quality - no chlorine smell and crystal clear!

What is the difference to salt chlorination?

1. Much lower salt content (TDS) => more free radicals due to special cells
2. TDS < 1200mg/l = Chlorides under 600mg/l => no or low risk of corrosion
3. MgCl2 as activator instead of Salt (NaCl) => better flocculation, no Phosphates
4. No compromises – perfect solution: Always with pH-Regulation, always with Chlorine-Regulation, always with APF and always with WiFi

Best disinfection with free radicals

DA-GEN is a Hydrolyser that uses advanced oxidation technology to generate free radicals and small amounts of chlorine. We run the system with a very low amount of salt (NaCl or MgCl2) because the lower the concentration of salt, the more free radicals and the less chlorine is produced. These highly reactive free radicals (OHand O•) completely oxidise organic substances and, in contrast to chlorine, don't form any harmful disinfection by-products (DBP's).

Highly efficient electrodes

Only our specially coated - high amperage - mono-polar electrodes can produce free radicals while operating at such low levels of conductivity (1.0 – 1.5 mS). Only 1 g/liter of salt is needed ! DA-GEN can work with a TDS concentration below 1200 mg/l in order to keep chlorides concentration under  600 mg/l - the corrosion limit for V4A (316) stainless steel.

Drinking water quality

DA-GEN completes Dryden DAISY® with a desinfection stage. With a properly sized DAISY® only 0.1 mg/liter of free chlorine is necessary to ensure proper disinfection in private pools. Pool water disinfected in this way is of drinking water quality – crystal clear and with no chlorine smell!
